How it works
When you click a "Chat with X" link we briefly route you through /link/<platform>/ with an affiliate identifier. The destination platform attributes the visit to Shoomble and, if you eventually sign up, pays us a commission. You pay nothing extra — the price you see on the platform is the same with or without our link.
What it changes about our editorial
Affiliate commission tier does not influence which platforms we list or where characters appear in our default sort orders (Popularity, Trending, Newest, Editor's pick, A-Z). Some characters belong to platforms whose affiliate program is currently inactive — we still list them because they belong in the catalogue.
What it funds
- Editorial work — character profiling, writing, image curation.
- Hosting and bandwidth.
- Platform testing — we pay for trial subscriptions on every platform we list.
- Image generation costs (when characters need placeholder portraits).
Featured & sponsored placements
Some characters or platforms may appear as paid featured placements. When that is the case, the card is clearly labeled "Sponsored" and the relationship is disclosed in the listing context. Sponsored placements occupy dedicated featured slots — they do not change the position of other characters in the regular catalogue, and they do not influence our ranking algorithms (Popularity, Trending, Newest, Editor's pick, A-Z).
Editor's pick remains an independent editorial selection. It is never sold.
FTC disclosure
Per FTC guidelines for affiliate sites, the commercial relationship is disclosed on every page. Paid sponsored placements, if any, carry a visible "Sponsored" label on the card.
